Senior High Youth Group Mission Trip "all for one." "There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone." Each summer, members of our Senior High Youth Group travel to rural areas of the United States to help low-income families. This year, like many past years (1999-2008, and 2010), they will participate in the Appalachia Service Project (ASP). They have also worked with Back Bay Mission (2009) and locally with Rebuilding Together and AmeriCares HomeFront. Through these experiences they discover first-hand that regardless of geography, education, or economic class, we are all equal members of God's family. When they return, they share their stories and experiences with the entire congregation. Mission Trip Donations Donations are gratefully accepted! The SHYG Mission Team is able to accept donations online or the "old fashioned way."
More About ASP The Appalachia Service Project (ASP) brings thousands of volunteers from around the country to rural Appalachia to repair homes for low-income families. For more than 40 years, ASP has made homes warmer, safer, and drier for needy families while at the same time helping to make a positive change to the lives of its participants. A few days of hard work repairing homes of those in need deepens your relationship with God, engenders a renewed compassion for other people, and a fresh appreciation of our place and purpose in the world.
