What is Roots & Shoots?

The Roots & Shoots program is about making positive changes happen—for our communities, for animals, and for the environment. The Congregational Church of New Fairfield has started a group for youth in 3rd through 8th grade who share a desire to create a better world and they are off to a running start. We meet on Friday afternoons from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM on April 1st, 8th, and 29th. Bring your ideas and come to a meeting. Adult and High School mentors are needed.

Recent Activities and Upcoming Events

The CCNF Roots & Shoots Youth Group has been very busy raising money to put together hygiene kits for Church World Service (CWS) to be sent to help people in need in Japan. We collected money, donations and even sold potted pansies. We packed up 120 kits on Friday, April 8th. Thank you to everyone in the congregation who donated money and items for the kits. Thank you also to Cindy Manning at Dental Associates of Connecticut and Susan Huwer at Dr. Kenneth Huwer's orthodonist office for both donating dental supplies for the kits. We are very thankful for all the help we received to make this a successful project.
